A dark border frames the canvas, heavy and enclosing, while the centre appears worn away – rubbed back to reveal what lies beneath. What emerges is a landscape, grounded by a strong, definitive line at its base. There is tension here between concealment and revelation, between the inherited lines we carry and the possibility of seeing through them to something more honestly held.
