In this series, Kurth explores the way we see and interpret everyday objects, capturing the tension between abstraction and representation. Each mark responds to the one before, building layers of meaning that shift and evolve. His paintings invite the viewer to experience a flickering perception, where familiar forms dissolve and reassemble, opening the door to new ways of seeing the ordinary.

Damien’s compositions are restrained ‘not minimalist’ though pared back to an essence. So too are the items depicted. These objects aren’t in themselves necessarily interesting or beautiful to look at, but when you really pay attention they change. It’s like when you utter a word over and over until it changes and you hear it differently. In the same way when you look at an object over and over something else emerges.
