Resolution – Sheild of Resolve

Painted on harakeke, held in a vintage ceiling baton frame that’s clearly seen a different life before this one. Against the dark, a shield-like form takes centre stage – rope-edged, oar-like feathers either side, a tree trunk running through like a spine. It has the quiet authority of something ceremonial, even if its exact ceremony remains its own business.
