Kate wrapped cyanotype fabric around the trunks of Kahikatea trees in remnant forest, letting dappled light expose the photosensitive surface before soaking it in tannin-stained bog water. The process mirrors the landscape itself – murky browns and faint shadows that reveal themselves slowly, evoking the muddy, earthy qualities of the Waikato’s rare peat bogs, ancient carbon stores shaped over millennia.
