Kate’s photograph reimagines landscape-making itself. Gathered from a swollen river thick with sediment and fermented apple remains, floodwater runs directly across unexposed film. What emerges is both abstract and visceral: swirling red tones that transform polluted water into something sumptuous, a process as direct and dramatic as the flooding that inspired it.
