Working primarily in oil alongside water-based mediums and collage, she builds layered abstractions, drawing on landscape and the body. Each painting evolves through sustained attention rather than fixed outcomes. Barron also teaches drawing and painting.

She recently completed a Master’s degree with distinction at Whitecliffe College of Art.

Sally produces layered abstractions through solitary studio practice. Influenced by landscape and the body, her paintings are gradually built and reworked, with additions and removals leaving subtle traces on the surface. Her practice engages ideas of interconnectedness, emergence, and provisionally, approaching each painting as an evolving form that develops through sustained attention rather than pre-determined outcomes.

Alongside her studio practice, Barron teaches drawing and painting.
