Art for Sale by Peter Collis

The Art Precinct is proud to showcase the following for sale.

Peter Collis's Background

Master potter Peter Collis holds a BA and teaching diploma, a list of awards and accolades too long for this page, and most importantly, over forty years at his pottery wheel. He has been exhibiting nationally and internationally since 1978, and his pieces have been presented to a number of world leaders as gifts from New Zealand.

He is highly regarded in his field, having lectured and demonstrated his techniques to many.

Peter is known for the roundness of his vessels, all of which are hand thrown. Even the largest of his pieces are made in this same way, which beguiles even established potters. He finishes his pieces with a range of classical ceramic techniques including crackle glazes, textured engobes and vibrant colour.

In Dune Orb, Peter has created a harmonious, hand thrown vessel that is soft and dreamlike, and a statement piece for any interior. The subtle finish to this work is deceptively refined, with so many years experience required to develop such fluency and perfection. The object’s orb-like shape is one of many in his oeuvre that demonstrates his ability to create pieces that enrich their surrounding environment.

Beholding one of Peter’s pieces in your space will enhance your collection as well as your interior, offering a subtle yet vibrant piece of art. All of his pieces have a sense of timelessness that make them the perfect investment.
