Painting for Danish artist Maria Owens is about intuition and mindfulness.
Through her abstract works she explores line, colour and shape, allowing each work to emerge and tell its own story. Inspired by what surrounds her, the gestural mark making and the spontaneous colour blocking employed by Maria in her practice work together to create a narrative, capturing a moment in time. Maria’s work has been shown in Upstairs Gallery Titirangi, Auckland Art Show and Waitakere Open Studios.
A percentage of each of Maria’s paintings sold is donated to ‘Trees That Count’ – so a native tree can be planted in New Zealand.
