Cyanotype fabric was wrapped around forest trees and captured filtered light, and was then soaked in tannin-rich water from nearby bogs. Kate’s process is patient, allowing muddy tones and drifting shadows to emerge gradually – much like the peatlands themselves. The work holds the earthly presence of these vital landscapes, ecosystems that store carbon and sustain life beyond what’s immediately visible.
